Article published in Information and Software Technology Journal
Researchers from COSMOS project partners Zurich University of Applied Sciences and University of Sannio had their article titled "Won’t We Fix this Issue? - Qualitative Characterization and Automated Identification of Wontfix Issues on GitHub" accepted for publication in the Information and Software Technology Journal, which has been published by Elsevier in their November 2021 Volume.
The article reports on the dataset analysis of around 6,000 issues from the history of 323 GitHub projects where it was observed developers spend a long time before labelling an issue as a wontfix. The authors empirically investigate the nature of wontfix issues and explore the common reasons behind a “wontfix decision”, the main characteristics of wontfix issues, and the potential factors that could be connected with the time to close them.
